Bale Zone is one of Oromia's most spectacular regions, featuring the Bale Mountains National Park, one of Africa's most important conservation areas. The zone encompasses the Sanetti Plateau, the highest plateau in Africa at over 4,000 meters, and the Harenna Forest, one of the largest remaining natural forests in Ethiopia.
